High-Rise

We had our minds well and truly boggled by Ben Wheatley’s latest directorial adventure High-Rise last night.

Well and truly boggled.

The reviews are far from convincing, and we kinda understand why so many people left the cinema halfway through the picture (even though that is totally unforgivable), having said that, the pros totally outweigh the cons in this instance. It’s a spectacle, albeit an unhinged one, especially when Portishead’s completely wonderful rework of Abba’s ‘SOS’ surfaces to haunt the best part of the film.

PS – Bring on Free Fire.
