‘Screw’ at Republic Gallery

Lining up Hetty Douglas’ and Alfie Kungus’ highly emotive and wildly vibrant canvases with Joe Clarke’s metallic, multi-dimensional futuristic / surrealist vision was nothing short of inspired last week at one of the weirdest gallery settings we’ve been to in a long while.

Think 4 x 5 metre MDF walls, held up with a basic wooden scaffold, positioned slap bang in the centre of a huge, near-never-ending atrium of a corporate building turned centre of culture (hence the gallery space).

Add a near-distorting ignant trap soundtrack and you’ve got yourself an evening.
